How to connect an invoicing service to Modulus (Morning, EZcount, iCount, Rivhit)

Updated Available on every plan

Short answer

In Modulus you connect an invoicing service under Settings → Business and invoicing → Invoices for buyers: pick Morning, EZcount, iCount, or Rivhit and paste the API key from the service. From then on every paid order gets a document automatically, a tax invoice-receipt by default.

Before you start

  • An active account with one of the services: Morning, EZcount, iCount, or Rivhit. Rivhit works with Rivhit Online and Invoice Online, not the desktop software.
  • An API key from the service (the table below says where to find it).
  • Your business details filled in on Modulus: without them no document is issued. Business details and VAT

Connect an invoicing service

  1. Step 1: Open the invoicing page

Where: Settings›Business and invoicing›Invoices for buyers›Set up invoicing

  2. Step 2: Choose "Automatically, through an invoicing service", then "Choose a service"

    Where: Choose a service

  3. Step 3: Pick your service

On "Which invoicing service do you use?", pick Morning, EZcount, iCount, or Rivhit.

  4. Step 4: Paste your keys and click "Connect"

    Where: Connect

Modulus checks the keys with the service before saving them, without issuing a document. If the check fails you see "We couldn’t connect with these keys. Check them and try again." and nothing is saved. With Morning and EZcount you can tick "These are test environment keys" to try it first without real documents.

  5. Step 5: You’re connected

You see "Morning is connected. From now on every paid order gets a document." (with your service’s name). The invoicing page then offers "Test connection" and "Change keys".

Morning (formerly GreenInvoice)Key ID; SecretIn Morning: Settings → Developer tools → API keys. Morning’s test environment has its own keys.
EZcount (EasyCount)API keyIn EZcount: Settings → API. The test environment (demo.ezcount.co.il) has its own key.
iCount (iCount)API tokenIn iCount: Personal area → Settings → API → create a new API token (it starts with API3). iCount has no separate test environment.
Rivhit (Rivhit Online)API tokenIn Rivhit Online: Settings → Online settings → API tab → Show API Token. Works with Rivhit Online and Invoice Online, not the desktop software.

What is issued, and when

  • When: once an order is marked paid. An order that costs nothing gets no document.
  • Which document: a tax invoice-receipt by default. Under "What is issued" you can choose a tax invoice instead. An exempt dealer (osek patur) always issues a receipt.
  • Automatic or by hand: "Issue automatically after payment" is on by default. When it’s off, the document waits on the order page until you issue it from there.
  • For the buyer: the store’s emails to the buyer include "Invoice/receipt" with an "Open document" button. You can also turn on "Also email the document from the invoicing service" (off by default).
  • No duplicates: each order gets one document, even if you switch services.

Using software that isn’t listed?

On the picker, click "My service isn’t listed", or choose "Another way" on the invoicing page. Modulus then issues no documents, even if a service is connected, and you issue them in your own software or by hand.

Frequently asked questions

Which invoicing services does Modulus support?

Morning, EZcount, iCount, and Rivhit. Each connects with an API key, and Modulus issues an invoice through it for every paid order.

What happens to orders if no invoicing service is connected?

Orders are placed and paid as usual, but get no invoice. The invoicing page says "No invoicing service is connected yet, so paid orders don’t get an invoice."

Why wasn’t the invoice issued?

Most often the business details are incomplete. The order page says "Your business details are incomplete, so the document wasn’t issued", with an "Open business details" link. Fill them in, then click "Retry issuance". With Rivhit, orders not in shekels aren’t issued.

Can I test the connection before using my real account?

Yes, with Morning and EZcount: tick "These are test environment keys" and paste the test environment’s keys. iCount and Rivhit have no separate test environment.

Which business name and number appear on the invoice?

The document is issued from your account at the invoicing service, so the business details printed on it are the ones set in that service. Modulus sends the service the buyer’s and the order’s details.
