How to add products to your Modulus store

Short answer
In Modulus you add products in four ways: by hand under Products → "Add Product", from an Excel or CSV file (Shopify and WooCommerce exports included), from photos that the AI writes a name, description and category for, or by asking the AI assistant. There’s no limit on the number of products on any plan.
Four ways to add products

Add a product by hand
Step 1: Start a new product
Where: Products›Add Product
Step 2: Fill in the details
Required: "Product Name", "Price" and at least one image (the first is the main image). Optional: "Description", "Compare at Price" (the original price before a discount, shown crossed out), "Categories", "Tags", "SKU" and barcode.
Step 3: Set up stock
Turn on "Track Inventory", fill in "Quantity", and optionally set a "Low Stock Alert".
Step 4: Choose the product type and status, then save
"Product Type": physical, digital or service. For digital products and services, shoppers aren’t asked for an address or shipping. A new product is saved as a draft and appears in the store once its status is Active.
Variants: sizes, colors and more
Variants are added to a product that’s already saved: open it, go to the "Variants" tab, click "Add option" (such as size or color), then "Generate variants". Each option can show in the store as text, a color or an image.
Import from a file
Step 1: Open the import
Where: Products›Import from file
A sample file is available to download there.
Step 2: Upload an Excel or CSV file
Product exports from Shopify or WooCommerce are recognized automatically. For any other file, the AI matches its columns to Modulus fields.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a limit on the number of products?
No. Products and orders are unlimited on every plan, Free included.
Can I move my products from Shopify to Modulus?
Yes. Export your products from Shopify to a CSV file and upload it under Products → "Import from file". Modulus recognizes the Shopify and WooCommerce formats automatically.
Can the AI write product descriptions?
Yes, with "Create from photos": upload photos, and the AI writes the name, description and category. You fill in the price and stock.
Why doesn’t my product show in the store?
A new product is saved as a draft. Change its status to "Active". To go live, every active product also needs a photo.
